Durability of Concrete

Service life prediction of new structures and residual service life prediction of existing structures with respect to carbonation and chlorides attack. Semi-probabilistic models (Duracrete®, Hetek, etc.) based on the state of the art knowledge for the ageing of reinforced concrete exposed to chlorides and carbonation.

Support to the Structural consultant in the preparation of suitable technical/particular specifications (Production-Durability & Compliance Tests-Curing-Cover-Thermal Modelling)
Thermal Analysis of Mass Concreting

Finite differences and finite element modelling of structural concrete members (plain and reinforced) for the prediction of peak temperatures, temperature differentials and maximum crack widths versus design requirements.
Conformity Control

Establishment of concrete supply Quality Assurance (QA) conformity control protocol. Implementation and reporting on conformity performance of fresh and hardened concrete in accordance to EN 206 -1.
In-Field investigation, Assessment and Instrumentation Monitoring

Non - destructive testing (high frequency georadar, ferroscan, tomography, termography) for detection of internal defects in reinforced concrete for depths up to 1.0 m.
Tunnel and Underground Structure Maintenance

Analysis and development of tunnel repairs and water-tightening application procedures, specifications and drawings.
